If you’re looking to register a trademark or industrial design, the SME Fund 2025 offers a fantastic opportunity to receive up to €700 in financial support for covering official registration fees. This initiative, backed by the European Commission and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), is available on a first-come, first-served basis from February 3, 2025, to December 5, 2025, or until funds are fully allocated.

What Does the SME Fund 2025 Cover?

This grant program provides partial reimbursement for key IP registration costs, ensuring businesses can protect their brand and innovations affordably:

✔ 75% reimbursement on EU trademark registrations and/or EU industrial design fees, covering class surcharges, examination, registration, publication, and deferred publication fees (maximum €700).

✔ 75% reimbursement on national or regional fees for trademark and design applications, including Bulgarian trademark registration and/or Bulgarian industrial design registration, covering examination, registration, and publication fees (maximum €700).

✔ 50% reimbursement on basic official fees for International trademark and/or International Design registrations, including designation and subsequent designations outside the EU (maximum €700). Note: Handling fees charged by the office of origin are not included.

Fast and Simple Application Process

Applying for the SME Fund 2025 is quick and hassle-free. Once you submit your application, EUIPO reviews it within approximately 15 working days. If approved, you’ll receive a voucher to cover the eligible IP costs.

Key conditions to remember:

• Vouchers are non-transferable and can only be used for the IP services they are issued for.
• Initial validity is 1 month, with a possible 1-month extension.
• Once activated (i.e., used for reimbursement of official fees), the voucher is valid for an additional 6 months.
• Reimbursement payments from EUIPO are processed within one month.
